Objective: Introduction to managers and process owners

At this stage, Fisheries Technologies (vendor) has worked alongside the Client (client) to set up species, fishing gear, landing sites, fishing regions, vessels, and users in advance (green area). This session aims to bring together a select group of the client's local managers and process owners to jointly examine the system for the first time and prepare for preliminary testing. The system is yet to be refined. At this stage, it is assumed that the client's process owners and managers have not evaluated its present setup. As this is the preliminary phase leading to refinement, we limit the initial gathering to a smaller group. It's important to note that this meeting differs from an acceptance test. The client's local managers and process owners should start reviewing and aligning the current configuration and system behavior with the defined data management processes.

Testing and feedback period

Following this session, the initial testing and feedback period (blue area) will commence and last a few days. During this time, the client’s team will gather, organize, and submit feedback to the vendor during initial testing and alignment. The vendor team will assist the client in fine-tuning and aligning the system.

This is actually starting the formal testing phase, and the vendor and client must work together in an organized and disciplined manner. Software testing is an iterative process, and comments must be recorded, discussed, prioritized, and fixed in each iteration.
